The aim of CMS is to establish a viable Family Planning commercial market for quality, affordable Sexual Reproductive Health (SRH) commodities and partly operationalize The National Total Market Approach (TMA) Strategy 2020-2025.
Vision
Improved maternal and child health outcomes by reducing financial barriers to equitable access to Sexual Reproductive Health commodities in the private sector
Mission
To improve distribution efficiency, increase affordability & accessibility of Sexual Reproductive Health commodities & grow the geographical reach of the potential market
History
CMS is a result of a collaboration between Samasha Medical Foundation, PSI, Marie stopes Uganda, and Waterloo foundation after the realization that an NGO approach could not sustainably impact increasing access to Sexual Reproductive Health products in the private sector and that there is a need for private sector data visibility. Based on lessons learned through the keystone diagnosis study, one of the main bottlenecks to deepening the private sector provision of SRH commodities was to optimise the private pharmaceutical sector supply chain which is the main goal of CMS.
